GET INVOLVED
VISITING RDT
FORDT would welcome volunteers or interested parties that want to visit RDT and contribute to the good work that goes on there. Offer of help can be in the form of funding, training or advisory pertaining to any aspect of human life, viz., health, education, occupational training, agriculture, animal husbandry, ecology, etc.
The medical team prefers to visit during the winter months in order to avoid the summer temperatures which may reach up to 48 degrees Celsius. However, this should not deter anyone going there as long as they take precautionary measures to counter the local climate.
It is advisable for interested parties to contact FORDT in advance of the travel and if possible coincide their travel with that of the medical team. Doing so would enable the visitor/s to be better guided to and within the project area and achieve the purpose of their visit to its full potential.
If you have an approved project to execute at RDT or are a sponsor and desire to meet the child, FORDT may be able to arrange for accommodation and food free/at subsidised rates within RDT campuses for the period of the stay. However, the travelling party will have to make their own arrangements for travel between home country and Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru. Free airport pick up/drop off by RDT transport could be arranged by prior notification and the drive time is usually about 3 to 3 ½ hours.
Personal insurance is mandatory to cover medical and travel aspects of the trip.
When travelling around India it's advisable to follow the FCO guidelines.
If you have any questions or wish to visit RDT please send us a message via our contact us page.

NURSING STUDENT VISITS
Nursing trainees from the University of Chester have been visiting RDT for a number of years as part of their Diversity Placement during their course. Feedback from the batches have been very positive. It served as an eye opener for many students to know life in less resourced countries. Interested student's should get in touch.
